Built to be played by everyone
LineBy You runs inside the Messages app and shares its tile board with the LineBy game. This page covers what's specific to playing in a conversation — the board's own assistive support is documented once, on the LineBy accessibility page.
Everything you touch to send or open a puzzle is labelled for VoiceOver: the message field, the suggested-message buttons, the send control, and — for the friend receiving it — the tap-to-play bubble and the revealed phrase.
The instructions, the suggested messages, and the revealed phrase scale with your iOS reading size. The scrambled tiles stay sized to the grid so the board keeps its shape in the compact space Messages gives an app.
Play behaves the same whether the app sits in its short strip or is expanded to full height, and it follows the same dark, high-contrast interface throughout.
The tile board is the same engine as LineBy, so its assistive support carries over unchanged — select two tiles to swap them (no dragging), Differentiate Without Color adds a border to solved tiles, Reduce Motion calms the animations, touch targets stay at least 44 points, and gentle haptics confirm each move. The LineBy accessibility page has the full board details and what's coming next for it.
Every control is labelled, so Voice Control should let you play hands-free — we're finishing a full device pass before we promise it.
VoiceOver announcements when a tile locks into place and when the puzzle is solved, so you don't have to re-check the board after every move.
Letter tiles that grow with your text-size setting, not just the surrounding text.
