Runoff roadmap

What we build next, and how you get a say

Runoff is out on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This board is what it gets next. Accessibility is committed and built first, because some players cannot play without it. The rest of the backlog is up to you: vote for the cards you want most, and if what you want is missing, pitch it.

Backlog 6

Accessibility is built first. The rest is up to you: vote for what comes after it.

Built, and waiting for the next update to reach the store.

Nothing here yet. Finished work waits here until the update carrying it is out.

Tick up to three cards marked Up for a vote, then send your picks. We keep your picks and a scrambled, one-way code made from your network address until the round closes, only to stop repeat votes. No name, email, account or cookie.

Pitch a feature

Something you want that is not on the board? Tell us what it is and why. Only we read pitches; the ones that fit the game join the board in our own words, marked Pitched by a player, and go up for a vote.

A short name for it, up to 60 characters.

Up to 280 characters. We never publish it as written, so leave out anything personal.

We keep what you write, exactly as typed, for up to 180 days so we can read it, and a one-way code made from your network address for the day you send it, only to cap pitches at three a day per connection. Never your name or email, no account, no cookie. Cloudflare checks that you are a person before a vote or a pitch counts, as on our other forms; the site privacy policy covers that check and all of the above.

Questions people actually ask

Why is accessibility not on the ballot?

Because it is not optional. A level horizon, menus a screen reader can use, text that follows your phone and honouring Reduce Motion decide whether some players can play at all, so they are committed and built first. Everything else waits behind them, in the order you vote for.

How does the vote work?

Every card marked Up for a vote is on the ballot. Anyone can pick up to three, once per round from each internet connection, so a household sharing Wi-Fi shares one ballot. The totals appear once you have voted. The most-picked go into the updates after the accessibility work.

What happens to my pitch?

Only we read it. The ones that fit the game become cards on the board, written in our own words and marked Pitched by a player; nothing you type is published as you wrote it. Bugs and other feedback are better sent to [email protected], where we can reply.

Does any of this change the game?

No. The board, the vote and the pitch form are part of this website, not the game: Runoff still collects nothing, has no account and plays fully offline. The game's privacy policy and the site privacy policy spell out both.
